Gotrek & Felix: Road of Skulls has been reviewed at the Founding Fields site. Two reviews, hosted at the same site–what are the odds they’ll both be good ones? Well, apparently pretty good, actually.

From the review:

A novel that surpasses expectations by a hundred miles and keeps on going. Easily the best adventure that Gotrek and Felix have ever undertaken!

Easily the best. Pretty sweet, right? To read the full review, head over to the Founding Fields site. To read an excerpt from the book, click here. And if you like what you see, why not give Road of Skulls a try for yourself?

  1. I’m 140 pages into road of skulls and started very confused. Where is Snorri? What did happen to them? I just read that somewhere here on this blog you posted that the book starts after troll slayer.

I understand that it may suck to continue the story of someone else, but it sucks even more seeing that Felix & Gotrek is becoming a (even more) shallow series of two guys killing everything they find without a red line combining these killing events.

Or is that just to much interpretation on my side?

    1. Hi Martin,

Road of Skulls is a ‘continuity-free’ book. It doesn’t necessarily start after Trollslayer so much as Trollslayer is the only book you need to be familiar with in order to read it. So, no direct references to Snorri, Ulrika, etc. The book isn’t meant to slot in anywhere in particular in the ‘canon’.

The main storyline (i.e. the ‘___slayer’ books) is on hold for the moment, and the next few G&F books (including David Guymer’s forthcoming City of the Damned) will be ‘continuity-free’. Eventually, someone will pick up the ongoing storyline from where Nathan Long left it in Zombieslayer. Just not any time soon.

There’s more info, which you may or may not find helpful at these two Road of Skulls FAQs I put together:
