SILVER SCREAMS

‘Silver Screams’ is an irregular feature on this site, focused on the subject of monster movies, as well as monsters in general. The subjects have ranged from films such as Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) to Dracula.

The idea for the feature came from a project I was commissioned to work on several years ago for a now-defunct horror journal. I was supposed to review public domain horror films from the Forties and Fifties, hence the title. Unfortunately, the journal vanished and the gig with it, leaving me with a handful of ideas and nowhere to put them. So, I decided to give them an airing here.

I enjoy writing these – they’re not serious reviews by any stretch, but they allow me to talk about things that interest me, and hopefully you as well. I’ve got plans to do a few of these every year, but only time will tell whether I manage it. As I write new ones, they’ll be added to this page.
